IT’S A NEW SEASON, IT’S A NEW DAY!

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.” SONG OF SONGS 2:11-12 (NIV)

One of the enduring characteristics of winter is that it is a season of inactivity in most spheres. It’s a period when some animals go into hibernation. For instance, “black and grizzly bears hibernate up to 7 ½ months without eating, drinking, urinating, or defecating” during winter (Wiki). Their entire life is on a hold!

It’s also a fact of life that sometimes, people go through winter seasons, when little or nothing happens in their lives. However, it becomes a problem when this season lasts longer than necessary. Unfortunately, there are people whose lives have been on a hold for far too long. They started out well in life but somehow, circumstances conspired to box their lives into a corner. Their destiny is on a hold.

If that describes you then I have good news for you: God “changes times and seasons” (Daniel 2:21). If you find yourself trapped in a season of life then be assured today that God is bringing you into a new season. He is terminating the winter season of your life, family, ministry, career, business etc.

“See, the winter is past…” You have to see with the eyes of faith that the winter season is over in your life. “Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters, … 18 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19  Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:16, 18-19).

See the flowers springing up around you; watch the roses bloom again; can you hear the cooing of the doves?  God is restoring your songs in the night (Job 35:10; Psalm 42:8) because “the season of singing has come.”
